ST Player Emmanuel Banahene Played In Ghana`s 2-0 Victory Over Togo

Ghana's Black Stars moved a step closer to the final round of the African Nation Championships qualifiers courtesy a 2-0 victory over the Hawks of Togo in the first round first leg clash on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra. Goals from strikers Eric Bekoe and John Boye sealed the victory for the Black Stars in the penultimate qualifying game.

Scouting Team player Emmanuel Banahene was in the starting line up, while Francis Akwafo was on the reserve bench. 17-year old midfielder Twariq Jebril had to be withdrawn from the squad due to small injury and has been rested for the return match.

The return leg has been scheduled for Cote d'Ivoire between May 16 to18, due to previous crowd trouble in Togo. The winner after both legs will face the winner of the Burkina Faso - Nigeria clash in the final round of the competition designed exclusively for footballers plying their trade in domestic leagues.
